Therapy for children & adolescents
Children do not do what we say, but what we do.
There can be various reasons why children or adolescents too may wish to seek therapy. For example, after events such as the death of a close relative or the separation of the parents, emotional disorders can occur. Anxiety, problems with self-worth or also low mood frequently arise here.
My therapeutic work with children and adolescents is guided by behavioral-therapy principles. The respective developmental stage of the child or adolescent is of course decisive. In a joint parent–child first conversation, I try to understand the current problem. Afterwards we can plan what the next steps might look like and whether psychotherapy is sensible.
